This posting is designed for interested candidates without forty-eight (48) college credits who would like to serve as a paraprofessional in MPS. To be considered, candidates must successfully pass the ETS - Parapro Assessment facililtated by MPS Talent Management. Interested candidates are responsible for the cost of the assessment in the amount of $55.00 which is to be paid in-person on his/her scheduled test date and time.

The ETS - Parapro Assessment measures the candidates ability in the subject areas of math, reading, and writing.

Once the assessment has been successfully completed, candidates will then be eligible to apply and be considered for specific school based paraprofessional positions.

A Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) paraprofessional engages in activities with regular and special education students which support and individualize the teaching-learning process in the district.

Interested applicants should complete all sections of the application including the online submission of a current resume.

At the time of hire, the selected candidate will need to submit one (1) letter of recommendation dated within the last year and signed by the author.

TESTING IS HELD EVERY 3RD FRIDAY OF THE MONTH FROM 1:00-4:00 PM

Study materials are sent to applicants the first week of each month, allowing three (3) weeks for studying.

A study session is offered the Monday before the scheduled test at GoodWill Talent Bridge on 91st and Fond du lac.

Conditions of Employment

Licensure Requirement: Within 60 days of the first day working with students, new MPS paraprofessionals must apply and pay for a Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction - Special Education Program Aide license.
