The Molecular Cytology Core Facility (MCCF) specializes in bringing advanced molecular detection and imaging technologies to the MSK community. We provide histology, cytogenetics and microscopy services to over 150 research groups, working in every area of preclinical cancer research. Reporting to the Core Director, the candidate will work with the Core team to expand our offerings in the quickly growing field of multiplex protein and nucleic acid imaging for cancer spatial biology. Using our state-of-the art automated stainers, imagers and integrated spatial biology platforms, the candidate will develop new multi-modal panels and assays in collaboration with MSK researchers to generate and analyze high quality experimental data. Key responsibilities include: validating antibodies; identifying and applying appropriate methods to optimize experimental outcomes; assessing experimental quality; troubleshooting issues; and advising users on best practices in experimental design

The ideal candidate should have:

  • PhD in life sciences, with knowledge of cancer biology and related fields
  • Desire to explore and implement innovative spatial multiplex technologies
  • Experience with immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence and/or FISH essential
  • Experience with automated staining platforms strongly preferred
  • Experience with biological fluorescence microscopy and image analysis preferred
