A 7.5 hours per day Life Skills Paraprofessional position is available. The essential functions of this position include the ability to follow oral and written directions, the ability to communicate and work effectively with special needs children as well as adults. Must be willing to assist in meeting the students' personal care needs as directed -may include feeding/tube feeding, toileting, dressing, etc. Life Skills Paraprofessionals are compensated at a starting wage of $18.05/hr for the 2023-2024 school year.
Priority will be given to those individuals possessing direct experience within an autism support classroom.
The individual must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time, bend, stretch, and lift 50 pounds. The applicant should have corrected hearing or vision within normal ranges. The individual must have a high school diploma and have the ability to obtain highly qualified status (i.e., bachelor's degree, associate's degree or complete CAPE testing.)
If hired for employment, the applicant must be able to submit the following:
- Criminal Record Check (less than one year old)
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance (less than one year old)
- FBI Fingerprint Clearance (less than one year old)
- TB Test/Mantoux (less than 3 months old)
- Physical - if applicable (less than 1 year old)
