We're seeking an experienced financial professional to help support our mission. We're currently accepting applications for our Finance Supervisor position.

As our new Finance Supervisor, you will supervise and provide leadership to five finance staff in a full range of operational functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, grants management, contracts administration, and purchasing. You will help us ensure revenues and expenditures best practices are implemented in order to follow funding and expenditure guidelines set forth in County administrative procedures. This position also performs advanced, standard and non-standard professional accounting, budgeting, grants management, contracts administration, purchasing, and coordinates the department budget preparation process.

You will manage all Library fiscal activities including the review of financial data in the integrated fiscal system, making periodic adjustments to ensure data integrity. You will interpret and implement fiscal policies and procedures in order to maintain proper internal control over cash transactions, contract and procurement processes, as well as the annual budget process. You will work with the Director of Operations and the Budget Analyst to develop and facilitate the technical and submittal aspects of the annual budget process at the department level while you lead department budget staff on the budget submission/board approval process throughout the year. You will coordinate with the County Budget Office and other County internal services providers for process clarification, budget tools and resources.

You will also audit fiscal transactions to ensure compliance with applicable rules and procedures. You will approve and monitor a full range of fiscal expenditure transactions at the department level to ensure compliance with required County, State, Federal or grant program procedures and requirements. You will manage grant financial reports and claims to ensure accuracy and timely submissions and also provide cost projections and technical oversight on grant applications for grant writers and staff. You will monitor grant budget and expenditures to stay in compliance with grant contract requirements as well as prepare a variety of detailed periodic and annual reports and schedules.

Finally, you will supervise five fiscal staff which includes setting and implementing goals and objectives for your work unit, ensuring you all achieve best business practices. You will evaluate staff performance through the annual performance review process and monitor the progress of individual performance goals. You will coach staff to correct deficiencies and implement discipline procedures as needed.

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Three (3) to six (6) years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Ability to pass a criminal records check, should a job offer be extended. Results of the records check will be reviewed on an individualized basis. A conviction is not an automatic bar to employment.
