Essential Functions and Objectives:

Administers and manages activities within a specific area of a responsibility. Serves as the subject matter expert and applies gained knowledge to execute, maintain and improve systems, programs, or processes.

Ensures that students, educators, parents and community partners are informed about and engaged in the SchoolChoice enrollment process through print, digital, and event communications. Develops and executes communication strategies, materials, and approaches that inform and engage a variety of stakeholders.

- Leads the development and execution of communications plans to support enrollment objectives throughout the District and in shared boundary enrollment zones, supporting the priorities of the District's Communications Office.

- Manages all internal and external marketing, communications, and outreach related to the SchoolChoice process through the development of print communications; oversight of digital strategy and execution; maintenance of website content and online tools; management of media requests and press releases; and support in the planning and execution of expos and events.

- Produces an annual report summarizing program results and impact as well as an annual multi-lingual Enrollment Guide publication series, managing all content creation, translation, print, and distribution processes.

- Drafts all messaging for family communications and collateral, including parent-facing documents related to the SchoolChoice process.

- Supports school marketing and crisis communications by writing and editing content for brochures and collateral, providing guidance to school leaders in a crisis and developing crisis letters and emergency messages.

- Manages the quality-control and approval process for district-wide student contact requests and automated messenger system.

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

- Five (5) to seven (7) years of comprehensive experience in the communications field, marketing, and/or internal communications, preferably with experience in education or a public agency.

- Colorado driver’s license, clean driving record for the past three years, and reliable transportation to travel to and from schools throughout Denver.

- Fluency in all Microsoft Office applications and/or Google Suite.

- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite preferred.

- Effective time management and organizational skills.

- Exceptional oral, writing, proofreading and editing skills, as well as experience with tailoring messaging to a variety of audiences, including families for whom English is not their first language.

- Solid creative skills to develop messaging and visual concepts that will inspire stakeholders to action.

- Self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance.

- Exceptional relationship-building, strategic planning and project management skills necessary to organize a variety of stakeholders around common goals.

- Strong knowledge of AP Style.

- Ability to be flexible with work hours in order to meet the scheduling needs of families, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.

- Familiarity with District departments and schools and a willingness to travel to sites throughout the region.

- Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.

Education Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in Communications or related field required.
