This is a full time position with the hours of 12 noon to 9:00pm,with 4 hours on Friday.
Salary Range: Determined by Education and Experience.
Essential Functions and Objectives:
This faculty member will provide instruction and related activities in accordance with the philosophies and procedures of Emily Griffith Technical College resulting in effective delivery of the HVAC/Refrigeration program and achievement of identified outcomes. Under the supervision of the Instructional Dean, the instructor will also assist with state board compliance with accreditation, and in maintaining the overall integrity of the HVAC/Refrigeration program.
-Work cohesively within the strategic direction, mission, and goals of the institution.
-Teach assigned courses with demonstrated competency with multiple instructional delivery methods and focus on effective assessment.
-Maintain and update course syllabus and expectations regularly and or as needed.
-Demonstrate, instruct, and provide guided practices in all of the following: Gas heating systems, ventilation systems, control systems, commercial and residential refrigeration systems, basic electrical and electrical components, basic air conditioning, air conditioning controls, low pressure steam heating, mechanical codes, and blue print reading.
-Teach in accordance with Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), Air Condition Refrigeration Institute (ARI), and Education Standard Corporation (ESCO).
-Maintain program and course compliance with Program Approval by teaching 80% of the Colorado Community College Common Course number system course outlines.
-Demonstrate and instruct proper safety practices used in the workplace.
-Recruit, schedule, and participate in program Advisory Committee.
-Write unit lesson plans, daily lesson plans, and various written and performance assessments in the classroom and lab setting.
-Prepare and maintain the HVAC curriculum to meet the requirements of accreditation.
-Maintain discipline and enforce rules of conduct and behavior in accordance with school policy.
-Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and overall performance using appropriate software systems used by the institution.
-Ability to provide data and information about enrolled students in the HVAC/Refrigeration program.
-Maintain appropriate inventory for all program equipment, materials, and supplies.
-Supervise and maintain the cleanliness of the classroom/lab.
-Oversee and maintain the safety of the students and working environment.
- Attend and participate in faculty, departmental and other professional meetings.
-Participate in professional development activities to remain current with industry practices and advancements.
-Perform other duties as assigned by the Instructional Dean or his/her designee.
-Team-teach with partner instructor and coordinate student-learning activities with day instructor when applicable.
-Work with partner instructor on program development and review for students learning.
-Prepare students to sit and pass the section 608 of the EPA acts, R410HS written exams.
-Have EPA Certification.

-Ability to perform under stress.
-Ability to direct and monitor the activities of others.
-Flexible, creative, and strong conflict resolution skills.
-Ability to communicate orally with students, staff, and the community at large.
-Ability to evaluate and judge instructional materials and methods.
-Ability to demonstrate a positive student service attitude, particularly under stress.
-Excellent daily attendance is very important to maintain the educational continuity necessary to meet instructional requirements.
-Classroom management and the ability to coordinate instructional activities and work with staff and students.
-Must possess or have the ability to acquire a part-time postsecondary Career and Technical -----Education Credential.
-Have EPA Certification.
-At least 4,000 hours non-teaching occupational experience in industry within the last seven years required.
-Broad knowledge of techniques and practices used in the industry.
-High school diploma/GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
Two years teaching experience in a technical college or community college preferred.
