General Statement of Duties

Provide instructional support to staff and students in Title I schools. Monitor planning and instruction of the school’s math and/or reading instruction and intervention programs to support struggling students. To ensure professional learning activities for Title I coaches and teachers to enhance achievement of students. To provide relevant and differentiated professional learning activities for Title I coaches. Collect and analyze observational and assessment data to monitor and enhance instructional effectiveness.

Essential Duties

Support Lead Instructional Coaches and school-based Instructional Coaches in maintaining high quality learning environments.

Collaborate with Lead Instructional Coaches, District Math/Literacy Coaches, and Title I Coaches develop professional learning activities

Plan and assist leadership staff in implementing differentiated professional learning sessions related to staff and instructional needs

Plan and provide Curriculum support professional learning to new staff as needed and assist in ongoing monitoring of curriculum implementation and resources

Use current school and division data to plan professional learning and support using the instructional coaching model.

Plans instructional activities for students, demonstrating knowledge of subject matter and using Standards of Learning and the curriculum of the district

Collaborate in planning all Title instructional activities (professional learning, instructional/curriculum requirements, and Title I guidance)

Select, requisition, and use a variety of instructional materials to stimulate learning and meet the needs of all students

Coordinate activities/responsibilities for new Title I staff

Stays abreast of current educational trends and best practices as these relate to classroom instruction and effective schools by attending conferences

Assist in developing, presenting, and conducting sessions at conferences

Communicate and coordinate instruction with other staff (special ed, ESL, remediation, etc.) relative to student learning

Maintain professional manner when interacting with students, parents/guardians, community agencies, and colleagues.

Incorporates and models appropriate use of technology to support instruction and student learning

Attend work daily and be engaged in job responsibilities

Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree with an administrative endorsement is required. Should have a minimum of five years teaching experience in grades K through 5 and possess a comprehensive understanding of math and/or reading instruction and intervention programs and strategies to support struggling students.

Candidate should also have demonstrated evidence of leadership and some experience with district wide initiatives. Must demonstrate the ability to develop curriculum and effective programs in mathematics and/or reading. Must possess the ability to collect and analyze observational and assessment data to monitor and enhance instructional effectiveness. Must demonstrate the ability to plan, model, and deliver current researched-based best practices in mathematics and/or reading education. Must be able to work collaboratively with team members, to serve as a liaison between teachers, school based administration, Title I, and central office personnel.

Experience with Title I programming and instructional coaching is preferred

Additional Information

This vacancy is open until filled. The contract length is 260 days, 8 hours per day.

Minimum Annual salary = $65,792.17 - Start date is July 1 - if after, salary will be prorated accordingly.

This position is contingent on annual Federal funding
