*Applicants must live in Colorado. Online teaching positions will require regular weekly in-person learning, trainings, meetings and/or testing. Flexibility to be available within the school-day schedule is a must.
Subjects and Grades:
This is a general teacher candidate pool for High School Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts.
Essential Functions and Objectives:
The Middle/High School Teacher teaches specific grade level subject matter to a diverse high school student population, following DPS standards-based curriculum. Teacher will assist with the development and curation of the online curriculum to ensure alignment with the DPS Scope and Sequence, plan/execute both asynchronous and synchronous units and lessons for students, and develop plans for reteaching, additional support and acceleration for students. Helps all students develop competence and confidence simultaneously through a balance of acquiring basic skills and developing conceptual understanding. Monitors, supervises, coordinates and enforces rule of conduct and behavior for assigned students, and reinforces positive student behaviors in accordance with school and District policy. Observes, evaluates, reports and records students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health. Communicates with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems. In addition to content-area instruction and support, serves as a teacher-mentor to a group of students to support social-emotional learning, engagement in school, advocacy with other teachers and completion of college and career readiness activities.
Knowledge, Experience, & Other Qualifications:
Must possess a current Colorado Department of Education Teachers License with appropriate endorsement.
