Location: Fern Ridge/Community Ed Building
Position: Year-round (12 Months); 9-24 hours per week Status: Non-Exempt
Open Date: 11/3/2025 Closing Date: 3/6/2026
Starting Pay: $18.50/hour

Essential Job Functions:
Parkway Adult Education is looking for an experienced K-12 teacher to lead adult students through an 80-hour DESE-approved Substitute Teacher/Paraprofessional Certification Course. The ideal candidate will bring practical classroom experience and a passion for education to help prepare adult students for substitute teaching roles in K–12 settings. Using the DESE-provided curriculum as a foundation, the instructor will guide students through the course while incorporating practical insights from their own K-12 teaching experience.

Qualifications:
  • Current Missouri K–12 teaching certification (required)
  • Direct experience teaching in a K–12 classroom
  • Ability to teach both in-person and online as needed
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and/or Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint)
  • Skilled in integrating technology into classroom instruction
  • Experience working with adult learners is preferred but not required
  • AEL Certification (This can be obtained after hiring)
