General Statement of Duties
This position is a part-time Custodial Worker (4 hours/day or 20 hours/week) with no benefits. Hours are typically 4-8pm. Hourly rate is $15.04.
Essential Duties
Strips, seals, waxes, and buffs floorsScrubs and rinses floors in assigned areaDamp mops a variety of rooms (i.e., library, halls, stairs, cafeteria, kitchens, offices and mechanical equipment rooms)Dusts a variety of rooms (i.e., auditorium, stage, library, halls, gym floors, and cafeteria)Sweeps shops, stairs and entrance areas, bath room, sidewalks, Cleans and scrubs restrooms completelyDusts rooms, offices, furniture and cupboards and removes cobwebsEmpties and washes garbage cansAttends work daily and be engaged and on taskPerforms overtime work on a scheduled, unscheduled, routine or emergency basis, as assignedPerforms other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment; ability to use cleaning supplies and equipment economically and efficiently; ability to follow simple oral and written directions. Good physical condition required. Ability to work at high altitudes using scaffolds, ladders, etc.
Physical requirements: lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds; walking; pushing/pulling; climbing; stooping; kneeling; bending; standing; flexibility with lower and upper body; smelling; touching; talking; stamina; hearing
Work environment may include: Noise; fumes; grease; dirt/dust; inside/outside; working alone and with others; confined areas; chemicals; repetition; hazards
