JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for providing targeted professional development to teaching and administrative staff, ensuring alignment with district priorities and educational standards. Fosters collaborative planning to evaluate and improve teaching practices.

Essential Functions Assist school-based staff with improving techniques of humanities instruction and improving overall student achievement. Oversee and supervise the implementation of a comprehensive humanities. Facilitate ongoing professional development for professional and administrative staff through In-service training, new hire training, and individual coaching. Direct, in coordination with administrators and department chairs, the planning, implementing, evaluating, and improving of the instructional program. Support the successful alignment and implementation of school and District priorities in student academic achievement.

Assist the school system with the selection of appropriate textbooks, teacher guides and other instructional materials and equipment.

Participate in regularly scheduled staff, district, regional, and school level meetings.

Develops enriching course offerings, such as Advanced Placement, College in High School, Dual Enrollment and Career and Technical Education programs.

Provide support to teachers in their classrooms through coaching, modeling, and mentoring. Helps specialists and teachers link best practices and materials to standards.

Help schools analyze data and identify appropriate re-teaching methods and strategies.

Work with secondary department chairs to help facilitate monthly department meetings, prioritize curricular needs, and develop curriculum.

Assist in the development of course offerings, including Advance Placement, College in High School, Dual Enrollment and CTE programming.

Partner with high-school counselors to provide students with college and career counseling and support

Partner with high-school counselors to coordinate internship opportunities

Partner with Parent liaison to coordinate cooperative learning opportunities with local businesses.

Assist in the development of the High School Course Catalog

Work with curricular committees to prioritize curricular needs and to develop curriculum.

Provide assistance to the staff members who have been identified as needing instructional or curricular support.

Analyze test data and make recommendations for curricular and instructional changes.

Collaborate with other Dauphin County school districts to create online standards-based courses for teacher use with district learning management system.

Keep appropriate records for all areas of responsibility, and coordinate completion and submission of required and appropriate local, state, and federal reports.

Uses technology skills in performance of duties, such as use of the internet, accessing databases, spreadsheet design, desktop publishing and creation of forms. Updates skills to ensure ability to use technology and implement new practices and procedures as they are developed.

Performs in accordance with school policy, administrative regulations, state and federal laws.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary in accordance with the ACT 93 agreement. Range D: $101,471 - $133,718
