Minimum Qualifications
All applicants must possess a valid PA teaching certificate in the area of Elementary Education with a special interest in the area mathematics; knowledge and understanding of best instructional practices; ability to engage students actively in the learning process; and interact effectively with students, staff and parents; excellent oral and written communication, organizational and computer skills; and a desire to work in an urban school district is preferred.
Purpose of Position
The math interventionist serves as part of the school leadership team, providing various interventions, assisting with data analysis, progress monitoring, and the administration of district assessments. He/she may provide support to the school administrator(s) in identifying professional development needs based on patterns/trends identified in data and modeling of best practices in mathematics instruction. The majority of time should be spent strategically planning and providing individual and small group interventions.
