General Statement of Duties

Plans, organizes and engages in paraprofessional and highly skilled technical work in support of the Business Section of the Department of Finance; does related work as required.
Essential Duties
The successful incumbent will:
- Supervise staff with responsibilities for assessing business license, personal property, and other local business taxes and assisting customers with compliance with relevant tax regulations
- Approve business tax applications submitted by the business community
- Review staff's work for accuracy and compliance
- Receive general supervision from and renders assistance to the Revenue Division Director in handling various administrative functions such as activity reports and presentations and may serve in an acting capacity during the Director’s absence
- Will be responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of the computer system within the section
- Demonstrate an extensive knowledge of the appropriate State and County codes and effectively communicate technical information to the general public
This work involves extensive public contact.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of an associate's degree with courses in accounting, business or public administration, statistics, report preparation, research and/or planning, and three years experience relevant to the program or service area to which assigned; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
