General Statement of Duties
This position is open until filled; the position instructs personnel in the proper operating procedures of equipment and performs maintenance repairs of all shop equipment and other school-based equipment, as necessary.
Essential Duties
- Performs maintenance repairs on heavy or small lawn cutting equipment such as adjusting, repairing, or replacing parts
- Makes emergency repairs to equipment in the field in order to keep it operating at the job site
- Diagnoses equipment failures and performs electrical repairs
- Keeps records and inventory of supplies used frequently
- Attends work daily and be engaged and on task
- Self auditing practices in safety awareness and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or trade school and three years of related experience as a skilled mechanic. Possession of a valid commercial operator's license (CDL A) issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Knowledge of methods, tools, and materials of equipment repair; skill in the maintenance commercial grounds equipment and small engines.
Additional Information
This position is open until filled. The minimum salary is $41,517.69 annually; or subject to the internal promotional policy. Salary will be prorated based on start date for the 2024-25 school year.
