Job details

The Department of Pediatrics at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK kids) is seeking a pediatric oncologist with a joint appointment to the Soldi Tumor Service and the Pediatric Translational Medicine Program (PTMP). We are actively seeking physicians that are BE/BC in pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology interested in an academic career developing clinical strategies and leading translational research for pediatric solid tumors such as sarcomas, rare tumors and other high risk malignancies.

MSK Kids has an outstanding reputation for clinical excellence, disease focused expertise and treatment innovation. The faculty member would work with experts from within and outside the sarcoma service to bring the best ideas forward for solid tumor patients including collaboration with large surgical, radiology, radiation oncology and pathology teams that provide unequalled care to patients and share in the research mission with prolific publications and grants. The faculty member would have access to and contribute to a large portfolio of clinical trials and collaborate with our outstanding scientists. The Lisa and Scott Stuart Center for Adolescent and Young Adult Cancers also provides a unique opportunity for collaboration with Medical Oncologists in the Adult Sarcoma Department, sharing an electronic medical record, IRB database, and access to clinical trials across the enterprise.

The PTMP is a comprehensive program developed to integrate and oversee state-of-the-art diagnostics, translational research and biobanking efforts, and a cross-histology early phase therapeutics portfolio across the MSKCC Department of Pediatrics. As a faculty member of the PTMP, this physician would help lead translational research initiatives such as the development of clinical whole genome sequencing and transcriptomic platforms and cell-free DNA based biomarker studies. The faculty member would also have the opportunity to participate on the PTMP Clinical Trials Service. The trial portfolio within the service consists of innovative early phase trials which are predominantly focused on targets and pathways (ie: via genomic sequencing or antigen expression profiling) which allow enrollment of varying tumor histologies.
