Occupational Summary

The Conejo-Garcia laboratory at Duke University is seeking a highly-motivated person for the position of research technician II to support multiple project on the immunobiology of cancer in the lab. Responsible for processing freshly resected tumors and autologous PBMCs from patients with cancer. Handle live mice to perform treatments testing specific immunotherapies, delivered through different methods. Sacrificing mice and processing of organs and tissues for analyses.

Maintenance of frequently used cell culture models (e.g., cell lines and/or organoids) for experiments conducted by multiple postdoctoral fellows in the lab. Prepares standard lab solutions, media, and bacterial culture plates. Performs general maintenance and equipment calibrations. Performs histological analyses (e.g., IHC) in FFPE sections from human tumors.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Work generally requires a bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology, psychology or other directly related scientific field.

Experience

None required above education/training requirement. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Preferred Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology, microbiology, immunology, biochemistry, or other basic science.
