The successful candidate for this position must possess an active and valid Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal and collaborative skills. In addition, candidates should possess strong organizational skills. The professional candidate(s) selected for this assignment understands and agrees that they may be required to provide coaching and support in a blended or online format as requested by administration.
Additional required skills:- Conducts comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), writes legally defensible effective behavioral analysis reports, and develops Individualized Positive Behavior Support Plans.
- Uses data to make informed decisions regarding student behaviors.
- Communicates effectively with students, staff, parents and community agency members
- Assists school administrators and classroom staff in implementing research-based behavior programs and research-based interventions
- Assist/Coach special education and regular education staff in the implementation of instructional approaches such as Verbal Behavior (VB), PEAK, Trauma Informed Classroom Practices, Positive Behavioral Supports, etc
- Assist teacher in implementing research-based behavior programs and research-based interventions
- Compiles and submits statistical data concerning students served
- Analyzes behavior from a functional perspective and develops positive interventions
- Actively participates on Child Student Teams (CSTs), as well as multidisciplinary and IEP team meetings
- Collaborates with a variety of service providers and community agencies working within the District
- Presents information on various topics related to the are of professional expertise in behavior management to communicate information to teacher, parents, students, etc
- Assists in developing procedures and training materials for staff involved with students with challenging behaviors to enhance students' programs and ensure that program operations comply with established guidelines.
- Conducts workshops, training, in-service presentations, etc, in classroom management techniques, positive behavior supports and other topics to develop and establish effective relationships with all students
- Trains and supervises instructional support staff assigned to support student behavioral goals in the classroom setting
- Researches interventions, treatment techniques and assessment tool resources and methods
- Performs related duties as required
In addition to being qualified and knowledgeable in the specific area of certification required, we are seeking individuals trained in:
- Differentiated Instruction
- Executive Functioning
- Computer Background in Windows
- Data interpretation for classroom/school improvement planning
